Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 15, 2026

Your content never leaves your browser. All Markdown-to-HTML conversion happens client-side, using JavaScript running locally on your device. We do not receive, transmit, store, or have access to any Markdown or HTML you write or paste into this tool. This applies regardless of whether you type, paste, or upload a Markdown (.md/.txt) file — the conversion occurs entirely within your browser.

markdowntoemail.com is operated by an independent individual developer. For purposes of this Privacy Policy, the operator of markdowntoemail.com is the controller of the personal data described here.

What we collect

We use the following third-party services:

Google Analytics (GA4). If you consent to analytics cookies, Google Analytics helps us understand aggregate site usage, such as page views, general engagement, approximate geographic region, and similar usage statistics. Google Analytics does not receive the Markdown or HTML you create using the tool.

Sentry. If you consent to analytics cookies, we also use Sentry to monitor JavaScript errors and improve the reliability of the site. Sentry may receive technical information such as browser type, operating system, page URL, error reports, and diagnostic information necessary to investigate software problems. It is not used to collect the Markdown or HTML you create using the tool.

Neither Google Analytics nor Sentry is loaded unless you have first accepted analytics cookies through our cookie consent banner.

We use Google Fonts to display the site's typography. When fonts are loaded from Google's servers, your browser may connect directly to Google in order to retrieve font files. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.

Advertising

Advertising is not currently enabled on this site. If we introduce advertising in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated to identify the advertising provider(s), explain any cookies or similar technologies used, and describe any choices available to you.

Affiliate links

Some links on this site are affiliate or partner links. If you purchase or subscribe through one of these links, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to you. Whenever practical, affiliate links are accompanied by a clear disclosure near the link itself.

Cookies

We use a cookie consent banner to request your permission before loading optional third-party services used for analytics and error monitoring (currently Google Analytics and Sentry). If you decline, these services are not loaded.

We also use your browser's localStorage to remember your cookie-consent preference. This preference remains on your device unless you clear your browser's stored site data.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information processed about you, as well as the right to withdraw consent for optional processing. Because we do not receive or store the Markdown or HTML you create, these rights generally apply only to information collected through optional third-party services such as Google Analytics or Sentry.

Where required by applicable law (including the GDPR and UK GDPR), we rely on your consent before loading optional analytics and error-monitoring services.

Our third-party providers may process information in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where applicable, those providers are responsible for implementing appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

We do not retain the Markdown or HTML you create. Information collected by third-party providers (such as Google Analytics or Sentry) is retained according to those providers' configured retention settings and policies.

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or would like to exercise applicable privacy rights, contact us at contact@markdowntoemail.com.

California Privacy Rights

We do not sell the content you create using this tool. We also do not sell personal information in the ordinary sense of exchanging it for money. However, certain analytics or advertising technologies may be considered "sharing" under some privacy laws when enabled. Optional analytics services are only loaded after your consent where required by law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; the "last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
